Destinations Dictionary
The Destinations Dictionary is where you keep all of your warehouses, fulfillment centers, and other delivery points organized in Propamp.ai. It acts as a single source of truth for where your products can be sent, who to contact there, and how long it takes to get goods to that location. This guide explains how to review, create, edit, and share destinations, and how to manage them in bulk using an Excel template.
Accessing the Destinations Dictionary
To open the Destinations Dictionary:
- Sign in to your Propamp.ai account.
- Use the main navigation to go to Dictionaries.
- Select the Destinations section.
You will see the Destinations page with a top toolbar and a table listing your existing destinations. At the top right, you will see a Warehouse Onboarding button for bulk Excel onboarding.

Understanding the Destinations Table
When you open the Destinations dictionary, you see a structured table of destinations. Each row represents a single destination such as a warehouse, 3PL facility, or fulfillment center.
The table includes:
-
Name:
The main label for the destination. If you have set a display name, this is what appears; otherwise, the internal name is shown. -
Destination Type:
A category that describes the kind of location, for example:- Third‑party logistics warehouse (3PL).
- Amazon fulfillment or warehouse locations.
- Your own warehouse or other internal locations.
-
Description:
A short explanation of what the destination is used for, such as “Main US East Coast 3PL” or “Primary FBA receiving center.” -
Actions:
An action menu on each row that lets you work with that destination. Typical actions include:- Edit: Open a form to change the name, description, lead time, and addresses.
- Delete: Remove a destination that you no longer use.
Above the table, you will also see a toolbar that includes:
- A search box to quickly find a destination by name.
- A destination type filter to show only specific types of locations.
- A Create button to add a new destination.
Together, these controls give you a clear view of your entire destination network and make it easy to navigate even large lists.
Searching and Filtering Destinations
The toolbar at the top of the Destinations table helps you narrow down your list:
Using the Search Box
- Click in the Search field.
- Type part of the destination’s name or display name.
- The table will automatically refresh to show only destinations that match your search term.
If you clear the search text, the full list for the current filters appears again.
Filtering by Destination Type
- Use the Destination Type filter dropdown in the toolbar.
- Select one or more destination types you want to see (for example, only your own warehouses or only third‑party warehouses).
- The table updates to show only destinations that match the selected types.
You can combine the search box with the type filter to quickly find a single destination, even in a long list.
Creating and Editing Destinations
You can add new destinations or update existing ones directly from the Destinations dictionary.
Creating a New Destination
-
At the top of the table, click the Create button.
-
A form opens with several sections:
- Name:
The internal name for the destination. Enter a clear, recognizable label (for example, “Anchor Point 3PL – East”). - Display Name:
The shorter name that appears in dashboards and reports. You can use a compact version such as “AnchorPoint East.” - Lead Time (days):
The number of days it typically takes from when you start a shipment toward this destination until it is considered received and ready. Enter a whole number (0 or higher). - Description:
A short text explaining what this destination is used for and any operational notes (for example, “Main 3PL hub for US East Coast orders. Receives ocean containers and parcels.”).
- Name:
-
In the Address section:
- Click Add Address to create a new address block.
- For each address:
- Street address: Enter the full address line (for example, “123 Distribution Ave, Building B”).
- Country: Select or type the country where the destination is located.
- Postal code: Enter the ZIP or postal code.
- Optional details such as city or region may also be available depending on how your address form is configured.
- You can add multiple addresses if the destination uses more than one receiving point.
-
Within each address, you can manage:
- Contacts:
- Phone number.
- Email address.
- Messaging handles (such as WeChat or WhatsApp).
- Links to shared documents (for example, a Google Doc with warehouse instructions).
- Comments or notes:
- Internal notes about the address.
- Timestamps of when comments were added.
- Contacts:
-
When you are ready, click the Save button at the bottom of the form. The destination is added to the table and can immediately be used in planning and analytics.
Editing an Existing Destination
To update an existing destination:
- In the Actions column of the row you want to change, open the action menu.
- Select Edit.
- The same form used for creation opens, pre‑filled with the current details:
- Update Name, Display Name, Lead Time, and Description as needed.
- Modify, add, or remove addresses.
- Update contacts and comments for each address.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Changes will be reflected throughout Propamp.ai wherever the destination is used—such as in shipping plans, allocations, and cost reporting.
Viewing and Sharing Destination Details
In addition to editing, you can quickly review and share destination information.
Viewing a Destination
Some views of the Destinations dictionary include a View action (for example, a button with an eye icon) that opens a detailed preview for that destination. In this preview, you can see:
- Destination Name and Display Name.
- Type of destination in a human‑readable format (for example, “3PL Warehouse”).
- Description with all of your notes.
- Addresses with:
- Address lines, country, and postal code.
- Contact details (phone, email, WeChat, WhatsApp, document links).
- Comments and their dates.
The preview is scrollable so you can see all addresses, contacts, and notes for that destination in one place.
Sharing Destination Details
Inside the destination preview, you may see a Share button.
- Click the Share button.
- The system prepares a clean, text‑based summary of:
- Names and type.
- Description.
- Addresses with countries and postal codes.
- Contacts and any linked documentation.
- Comments with their dates when available.
- This summary is copied to your clipboard.
- Paste it into an email, chat message, or document to share clear warehouse instructions or contact details with colleagues or partners.
A small confirmation message lets you know when the details have been successfully copied.
Bulk Onboarding and Updates via Excel
If you manage many warehouses or fulfillment centers, it is more efficient to onboard and update them in bulk using the Warehouse Onboarding feature.
You can access this from the Destinations page header:
- The Warehouse Onboarding button appears near the top right of the page.
Downloading the Destinations Excel Template
To download the template:
- Click the Warehouse Onboarding button.
- In the onboarding window, choose the option to download the template.
- Propamp.ai retrieves your existing destinations and fills them into an Excel workbook.
- Save the workbook to your computer. The primary sheet is typically named something like “Destinations Template”.

The sheet contains columns such as:
-
ID (Internal – Leave Empty for New):
An internal identifier that links back to an existing destination.- For existing destinations, this is filled in and should be left as is.
- For new destinations, leave this column empty; Propamp.ai will assign an ID when it imports the data.
-
Name (System Identifier):
The internal name that identifies the destination. For new rows, choose a unique, descriptive name. -
Display Name:
The shorter label shown in tables, dashboards, and reports. -
Description:
A text field for general notes about the destination’s role and characteristics. -
Destination Type:
A dropdown list containing supported destination types (for example, “3PL Warehouse”). You must select one of the allowed values from the list. -
Lead Time:
The typical number of days it takes for shipments to reach and be processed at this destination. -
Address:
The street address or main address line. -
Country:
The country where the destination is located. -
Postal Code:
The ZIP or postal code for the address. -
Phone Number, Email, WeChat, WhatsApp:
Contact channels for staff at the destination.
Some cells (such as the ID and header row) are protected to prevent accidental changes, while the main data fields are open for editing.
Editing the Template
When filling out or updating the template:
-
Destination Type:
- Always choose from the dropdown list in the Destination Type column.
- Manually typed values that do not match the allowed types will be rejected during import.
-
Lead Time:
- Use whole numbers (for example,
0,2,7). - Negative numbers or non‑numeric text are not allowed.
- Use whole numbers (for example,
-
Contact Details:
- Phone and WhatsApp should be in a readable phone format (for example, “+1 234 567 8901”).
- Email addresses should be valid emails.
- WeChat and any document links should be correctly spelled so your team can use them.
-
New vs. Existing Destinations:
- To update an existing destination, leave the ID column as it is and edit the other fields as needed.
- To create a new destination, leave the ID column empty and fill in all required fields (Name, Display Name, Destination Type, Address, Country, and any contact details you want to store).
Uploading the Completed Template
After you finish editing the file:
- Return to the Destinations page in Propamp.ai.
- Click the Warehouse Onboarding button again.
- Choose the upload option and select your edited Excel file.
- Propamp.ai will read the template and:
- Validate the required columns.
- Check that destination types are valid choices.
- Parse each row into destinations to be created or updated.
If the file is valid, you will see a success message indicating how many destinations were recognized. The Destinations table will be refreshed to show your updated records.
If there are problems (for example, missing columns or invalid destination types), you will see an error message describing what needs to be fixed.
Tip: Always download a fresh template before doing a large update. This ensures that column names and formats match exactly what Propamp.ai expects, which reduces the chance of upload errors.
Best Practices for Managing Destinations
To keep your logistics data clear and reliable:
-
Use Clear, Consistent Names
Agree on naming rules for destinations (for example, region + facility type, such as “US‑East 3PL” or “DE‑FBA Main”). This makes tables and filters easier to read. -
Keep Lead Times Realistic and Updated
When carrier performance or warehouse processing times change, update the Lead Time so your planning and allocation tools stay accurate. -
Maintain Complete Address and Contact Details
Always include full address information and at least one active contact channel for each destination. This reduces errors and miscommunication when booking shipments. -
Use Comments for Operational Notes
Store important internal notes, such as cut‑off times, specific receiving instructions, or restrictions, as comments attached to the destination’s addresses. -
Review Destinations Regularly
Periodically review your list to remove obsolete locations, consolidate duplicates, and confirm that key destinations have up‑to‑date contact information.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
1. Destinations Not Showing Up
If you expect to see a destination but it is missing:
- Check the search box: Clear any text to ensure you are seeing the full list.
- Check the destination type filter: Make sure you are not filtering out the type of destination you are looking for.
- If you recently created the destination via Excel, confirm that the upload was successful and did not report any errors.
2. Destination Type Errors During Excel Upload
If the system reports invalid destination types when you upload the template:
- Verify that every value in the Destination Type column was chosen from the dropdown list.
- Remove any custom text that does not exactly match one of the allowed options.
- If needed, download a fresh template to see the current list of supported types.
3. Lead Time or Address Fields Not Accepted
If some rows are rejected or you see an error referring to lead time or address:
- Confirm that Lead Time is a whole number (no decimals or text).
- Make sure that Name, Display Name, and Destination Type are filled out for each new destination.
- Ensure that required address components (such as country and postal code) are not left blank for destinations that need them.
4. Changes Not Visible After Upload
If you upload a corrected template but do not immediately see your updates:
- Wait a few moments and refresh the Destinations page.
- Verify that the search box is empty and that no filters are hiding your updated destinations.
- If the issue persists, try uploading the file again and carefully review any messages shown during the upload.
5. Confusion Between Multiple Addresses or Contacts
If it is not clear which address or contact belongs to which destination:
- Open the View option for that destination to review all addresses, contacts, and comments together.
- Use the description and comments fields to clearly label each address (for example, “Container dock only” vs. “Small parcel receiving”).
- Consider consolidating or simplifying addresses if they are no longer used.
