Product Dictionary
The Product Dictionary is a powerful tool in Propamp.ai that allows you to manage, organize, and customize how your products are displayed and analyzed throughout the platform. This guide explains all the features available and how to leverage them effectively.
Understanding the Product Table
Upon accessing the Product Dictionary, you’ll see a comprehensive table displaying all your products:
The table includes the following information for each product:
- Product Image: Visual representation of your product
- Product Name: The name used throughout Propamp.ai
- ASIN: Amazon Standard Identification Number
- SKU: Stock Keeping Unit
- Action Icons: Edit name, Configure COG, and more
Customizing Product Names
Propamp.ai allows you to customize how product names appear throughout the platform, making them more concise and recognizable:

- Pencil icon (✏️) will appear, click on it
- A modal will appear with the current name (if you have set one previously) in an input field

Tip: Choose short, descriptive names that make your products easily identifiable in reports and analytics dashboards.
Setting Cost of Goods (COG)
One of the most crucial features of the Product Dictionary is the ability to set accurate Cost of Goods for your products, which enables precise profitability calculations inside our platform:
Propamp.ai uses the COG information to calculate the profit margin of your products.
Tip: COG can be set in two ways:
- Manually in the Product Dictionary
- Automatically by using our Purchase Order section that automatically updates the COG for the products in the purchase order for a specific marketplace more on that in the Purchase Order section
To Configure COG Information:
- Find the product you want to update
- Click the settings/cog icon (⚙️) in the Actions column
- A COG configuration modal will appear with the following fields:
- Marketplace: Dropdown to select which connected marketplace this COG applies to
- Effective Date: Date picker to specify when this COG should take effect
- Cost Per Product: Input field for the unit cost paid to your supplier
- Shipping Cost Per Unit: Input field for the transportation cost to get the product to the selected marketplace
- Fill in all required fields
- Click “Save” to apply the COG information
Important: Setting accurate COG information is essential for correct profit margin calculations and financial analytics throughout Propamp.ai.
Product Visibility Controls
The Product Dictionary allows you to control which products appear in your analytics and reports:
Showing Historical Products
By default, Propamp.ai displays your currently active products. To show products that were previously sold but may not be active now:
- Locate the “Show Historical Products” toggle switch at the top of the Product Dictionary
- Click the switch to turn it ON (it will change color when active)
- The table will refresh to include previously sold products from your Amazon account
- From there you can check and uncheck the products you want to include in the analytics and reports
Note: All of the information is saved without a save button, so you can change the status of the toggle at any time.
Selecting Products for Analytics
To specify which products you want to include in your analytics throughout the platform:
- Find the product(s) you want to include
- Click the toggle switch in the “Available” column
- Products with the switch ON will be included in dashboards, reports, and analytics views
- Products with the switch OFF will be excluded from analysis but remain in your dictionary
Product Grouping and Custom Ordering

Enabling Grouping and Reordering Mode:
- Locate the “Enable Grouping and Reordering” toggle switch at the top of the dictionary
- Click the switch to turn it ON
- The table will refresh and enter reorganization mode
Working with Parent Views
When grouping is enabled, products are organized by parent views (typically by product families or variants):
- Each parent product will show as a header row
- Child variations (different sizes, colors, etc.) appear grouped underneath
- You can expand or collapse parent rows using the arrow icon
Custom Ordering Through Drag and Drop
To change the order of products or groups:
- With grouping mode enabled, hover over the product or group you want to move
- Your cursor will change to indicate drag capability
- Click and hold to grab the item
- Drag it to the desired position
- Release to drop it in the new location
- The system will automatically save your custom order
How Custom Ordering Affects the Platform
Your custom product grouping and ordering will be reflected across the entire Propamp.ai platform:
- Financial reports will display products in your specified order
- Dashboard widgets will prioritize display based on your ordering
- Analytics sections will maintain consistent product grouping
- Export functions will preserve your custom organization
Note: Custom ordering affects visual presentation only and does not impact calculations or data relationships.

For accounts with many products, the Product Dictionary offers robust filtering and search capabilities:
Using the Search Function:
- Locate the search box at the top of the product table
