Prerequisites

Three things need to be true before any client can connect. The second one is where most failed setups actually go wrong.

A Propamp account

Sign up at propamp.ai — two weeks free, no credit card required. Any role can connect; the tools you get are scoped to what your account can already see in the web app.

Amazon Seller Central connected inside Propamp

The MCP server reads data Propamp has already synced from Seller Central — it does not call Amazon on its own. Connect Seller Central in the Propamp web app and let the first sync complete before you connect an AI client.

See Connecting Sales Channels for that step.

⚠️

A connection that authorizes successfully but returns empty results for every question is almost always this: the account is fine, the sync has not run yet.

An MCP client that supports remote servers

You need a client that can talk to a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP and complete an OAuth sign-in:

  • Claude — Pro plan or above (custom connectors are not available on Free). See Claude Setup.
  • Codex — CLI, desktop app, or IDE extension. See Codex Setup.
  • Anything else — Cursor and other spec-compliant clients work too. See Other MCP Clients.

Plan and access

Trial organizations have MCP access included. On paid plans, connecting an outside AI client requires the MCP access add-on — the in-app Propamp AI assistant is never gated by it.

If your client signs in successfully and then shows a billing message where the tools should be, that add-on is what it is asking for. Email [email protected] and we will enable it.

What you will not need

  • No API key. Authentication is OAuth; there is no token to generate, copy, or rotate by hand.
  • No IP allowlisting or VPN. The server is reachable over the public internet at https://mcp.propamp.ai/mcp.
  • No separate MCP password. You sign in with the same Propamp credentials you use on the web app, on a Propamp-hosted page.
